Programs

Awards

Our student groups on campus do amazing things such as host programs around education and entertainment, are involved in bettering the community through community service and much more. Each year, the department seeks to acknowledge the accomplishments of our student groups by honoring them with awards and recognition. From general registered student organizations to fraternities and sororities, and club sports, our goal is to ensure the efforts of these student groups don’t go unnoticed.

G.O.L.D. Leader Series

The Growing Organizational Leadership Development (G.O.L.D.) Series is a leadership development initiative created for leaders of registered student organizations to help provide them with the tools they need to be successful. It is designed to build leadership capacity in our student organization leaders and is a “choose your own leadership adventure” wherein participants choose the activities to attend (from the list provided) to earn credit. Through the attendance of campus workshops and events, students have the ability to earn a certificate in leadership and a gold graduation honor cord.

Greek Operations Series

This program series will teach fraternal organizations how to operate more effectively. Topics will be chosen based on the needs of the community and will be different for each event. The audience for this program will depend on the topic and the needs of individual chapters.

Leadership Development

Leadership development plays a vital role for students and their organizations. Our staff provides programming that is specific to holistically developing student leaders.

Get A Clue

This is an annual involvement fair that is usually held in the ECU Mall area located in the center of campus. This is a collaborative event of 3 functional areas. Our office featuring hundreds of student organizations excited to recruit new members and share information about their club or organization, Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement (CLCE) showcasing community partners eager to share their volunteer opportunities with students, and the Pitt County Chamber of Commerce highlighting a variety of local businesses within the community for students. This event is one that attracts thousands of students each year!

Risk Management Programs

There are multiple opportunities for student groups to interact and receive knowledge surrounding risk management. Traditionally we have covered drug and alcohol awareness, hazing awareness through National Hazing Prevention Week, sexual assault and domestic violence awareness, as well as sessions with The Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities.

The Order of Omega

The Order of Omega is an honorary, leadership society that recognizes distinguished leaders within fraternity men and sorority women. Each must be at least of Junior status and have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher. The link will be active when the application opens.
